Hiking and sea-kayaking in the Lofotens
Join our new trip, for a total immersion in the unspoilt nature of the Lofoten Islands!
The Lofoten Islands are today perceived as a paradise for hiking and the archipelago still attracts more hikers in search of magnificent landscapes and preserved nature. What is less known however, is that the islands are also fantastic for sea kayak trips.
Indeed, several fjords, well protected from the wind by the natural walls formed by the surrounding mountains, are perfect for excursions at sea, even for beginners. In the Lofoten you will evolve in turquoise and emerald shallow coastal waters, with for only background noises that of the paddles swashing the surface of the water, the shriek of the seagulls and the lap of the sea against the reefs.
Thanks to this silent and ecological transportation mode, marine animals are not very fierce. And you will probably meet a lone seal, or maybe some sea otters, allways curious, who will come to meet you. If you are lucky you may also see a whale in the distance or even killer whales who come to hunt herring and mackerel banks at the end of summer. Kayak also allows you to dock where it would be impossible to go on foot or with another type of transportation, so it is possible to discover preserved places, whether small sandy beaches or rocky creeks where seabirds nest.
This 8-day trip combines mountain hiking and sea kayaking, and allows you to immerse yourself in the grandiose landscapes of the Lofoten.
So why not join one of our hike and kayak tours scheduled this summer?
