Levels of difficulty

Our tours have three levels of difficulty

> EASY, MODERATE OR TOUGH

Because our job as guides consists mainly in taking groups hiking in the mountains, all our tours require considerable physical exertion. In order to get maximum enjoyment out of tours you must therefore be capable of both physical and mental endurance.

easy - 500 m of total uphill climb/day. 4 to 5 hours’ walk per day.
> Keys to success: capable of exercising at least 3 x 45 min each week, enjoy mixing with people.

moderate - up to 1,000 m of total uphill climb/day. 5 to 7 hours’ walk per day.
> Keys to success: capable of exercising at least 3 x 1 hour each week. Mountain hiking experience. Capable of adapting to new environments.

tough - minimum 1,000 m of total uphill climb/day. 7 to 8 hours’ walk per day.
> Keys to success: capable of exercising one hour every other day (endurance sport - jogging, swimming, tennis, etc.). Mountain trekking or hiking experience. Capable of adapting to difficult conditions (weather, makeshift accommodation, etc.) and of maintaining a high level of endurance.
